anyone here living in Yamagata?

Question: how do yo find the langauge here I've been here for five years but I cannot understand their "kotoba "here in yamagata whats the easy way to learn it

Answer: My friend is from Yamagata. But when she talks to me, she doesn't use Yamagata dialect because I can't understand it. Well, I don't know how easy it is to learn Yamagata dialect. But do you have any friedns there? It's better for you to learn Yamagata dialect from them. I'm Japanese and I can't understand Yamagata dialect at all because I speak only Tokyo dialect ( the standard language). But usually people from the area other than Kanto area try to use Tokyo dialect when they communicate with people who use different dialects. But if their accent is still heavy, I mean...just forget that....But if you are going to live in Yamagata for a while. I guess you do need to learn the dialect... Anyway, it's better to find someone in Yamagata to teach you the dialect. Good luck!
