Okay so my closing date is was set for another day..even though?

Question: everyone has everything done except the company the deals with the abstract. They said it is looking to be ready next week. Is this right??? My realtor also said that abstract company contacted my lender but when I called they had done no such thing. Is the abstract company taking there time?? Or is the normal?? Closing was set for September 14 but now we are closing the 21st. The abstract company had the abstract 30 days prior to closing.

Answer: WOW! the Company who is pulling the abstract should have been able to do this in 7-10 days but, in some states it takes longer and some states have actually set times to almost 3 weeks for them to "perform" this exercise. In reality it is done by computers for the most part these days. If the seller gave them his information to start with and they may or may not have done so; It is quicker because then they can just go forward from there. See? Abstract comes from the title company.
