What materials did Art Deco used????

Question:

Answer: Art Deco is a term used to describe a style of art--you could have an Art Deco building, Art Deco poster, Art Deco jewelry, etc. So materials could be anything from stone to metal to paper! I believe that the official definition for an antique is anything 100+ years old, but if you're buying an art deco "antique," it shouldn't be made of any contemporary materials like polyester or plastics. There is something that looks like plastic called Bakelite, however, that was made in the early part of the century. Some people collect Bakelite jewelry--very chic. It's a style that still looks "modern" to many--but was developed in the 1920s & 1930s. Do a web search for "art deco" images and you'll see lots of really cool things. Great resource for graphic design, fashion, etc.
